Stress Reduction Workshops
Bhante Sathi is offering Stress Reduction Workshops that emphasizes learning different meditation techniques that helps one to be mindful and, as a result, will assist in reducing one’s overall stress.
Goals of the workshop are:
- Learn specific techniques to cope and manage situational stress.
- Learn how to increase overall mental and physical health by better managing our life stressors and becoming more mindful.
Workshop Description:
The workshop will teach specific techniques that will help you to be open to and conscious of your feelings, and to relax in stressful situations. This will include practicing meditation and breathing techniques, and learning methods on how to improve one’s insight. The workshop will include some group activities. The stress reduction techniques which will be taught have been practiced by eastern thinkers for centuries and have been proven to be effective in reducing one’s overall stress.
There is no intent to introduce one to a certain belief system, nor are participants expected to adhere to any specific belief system to take part in this workshop.

About the Instructor:
Bhante Sathi is a buddhist monk in the Theravada tradition and the Chief Abbot at the Triple gem of the North*. He has a particular interest in what is common to all traditions of schools of Buddhism as well as other religions.
Bhante Sathi has conducted and currently offers services in customized stress reduction techniques and long-term plans for individuals with different needs/illnesses in order to optimize their overall well-being. He also offers customized group workshops as well. He has conducted many workshops in hospitals and health and wellness center in the United States (e.g. ISJ Mankato, Emory Research Center, etc.) For over 15 years he has been teaching meditation and has counseled many in Sri Lanka, Britain and the United States.
He was born in Kandy, Sri Lanka and his spiritual interests began in his early teenage years. He ordained as a novice monk at age 19 and received higher ordination three years later.
